As Pandemic affected all spheres of life so does the Canadian Immigration process. The inflow of immigrants to Canada drastically reduced due to Covid as well. Even though there have been clear statements from the Immigration that around 400,000 immigrants will be accepted during 2022. This will resolve the problems the supply chain facing worldwide and lots of domestic help and other section of life where man power shortages are slowing down the economy. Despite attempts from the government, the back log of process going on since the pandemic still haunting and slowing down the process. Many applicants are waiting to since several months. The target in 2020 was 341,000 individuals but were able to allow only 128,000 immigrants since than the back log is going on will continue till the end of 2022. We hope 2023 will see a normal processing time. One of the plan to complete the quota of immigration is to allow international students to apply for Permeant Residence.
Residence of foreign countries can apply for immigration directly. All information is available on the official website. https://www.canada.ca/en/services/immigration-citizenship.html OR CIC.GC.CA
